The City of Akron, OH is working on a multiyear Long-Term Control Plan under the direction of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reduce sewer overflows. The City is taking steps to drastically reduce combined sewer overflows and increase the capacity of its sewage system and water reclamation facility. EQUIX has three to four crews on site and was hired in 2019 to assist in identifying and managing their capacity, management, operation, and maintenance (CMOM) program.

A CMOM program is an information-based program to effectively run a collections system and help lower the risk of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit and discharge violations.

Total linear feet of sewer cleaned and inspected:

• 2020 — 225,000 LF 8–18-inch Sanitary & Combined Sewer
• 2021 — 450,000 LF 8–18-inch Sanitary & Combined Sewer
• 2022 — 490,000 LF 8–18-inch Sanitary & Combined Sewer (Projected)
