Ground Water Containment Barriers

Groundwater Containment Barriers

Equix Infrastructure – Geotechnical designs and constructs groundwater containment barriers, including several optional slurry walls (SB, CB, SCB and SSCB) and bio-walls (i.e.; PRB’s). Installation methods include conventional excavations and single-pass trenched excavations.

Services Include:

  • Standard excavator construction with depths up to 80’ below grade, using extended booms and specialty buckets.
  • Clam-shell and hydrofraise construction for deeper trench depths.
  • Construction utilizing continuous-trenching equipment, in conditions that are void of subsurface obstructions. This method is more commonly referred to as “soil mixing”.
  • Construction of trenches that are backfilled with filtering media used to remediate contaminated groundwater, via a “passive flow-thru” method.
